With over fifty years experience behind us you can be sure you will not be disappointed when you visit Thornton Fisheries. Not only have we been a national finalist twice in the Fish & Chip Shop Year Competition 2006 & 2008, last year being voted third best in the UK, we have also won the national mushy pea award.

Awarded The Taste of Lancashire Highest Quality Award for the last two years which puts up there with some Mitchelin starred restaurants.

We have just been awarded 5 stars from Wyre Borough Council, Environmentally Health Department "Scores on the Doors", scheme (June 2011).

 

We normally have five different varieties of fish on offer from traditional favourites like Haddock and Plaice to Silver Hake, Halibut and now Alaskan Pollock – See chalkboard for monthly specials. All are sourced from sustainable fishing grounds – our fish merchant has over forty years experience of supplying the finest restaurants and hotels across the North of England. Our Potato merchant operates as a family concern which sources potatoes locally whenever possible and within a twenty mile radius, sundry products come from a family business now in its third generation of supplying the fish and chip shop trade. Together we make a formidable team with the same aim, to bring you the best fish and chips.

The third Saturday of the month has Gluten Free fish & chips available as well as the standard menu. All of our suppliers are Lancashire based. We offer some of the UK's finest Fish & Chips in clean, modern surroundings (either eat in or take away) served by friendly and efficient staff.
